On this date in 1980, SKIDS released the single CIRCUS GAMES, (July 28th, 1980). Embellished by a school choir, the first single to be released from the sessions for the band’s third LP, THE ABSOLUTE GAME, was the anthemic CIRCUS GAMES. With Stuart Adamson's air-raid guitar breaking through the sequenced electro-pop opening, the song revealed as yet unheard textures on a Skids single. It also gave us some of Jobson's finest lyrics to date with priests, jails and juries all making an appearance.
