It wasn’t foreign, more as if I was transported to another world. Everything was extraordinary, unbelievable and exciting. It left a lasting impression but it took until I was about 15 or 16 to start being interested in Chinese ceramics. Most of which was export porcelain, because as a teenager that was what was readily availab
