My serviceberry is Amelanchier × grandiflora ‘Autumn Brilliance.’ It is a hybrid of two other native Amelanchier species, Laevis and Canadensis. ‘Autumn Brilliance’ serviceberry is a fast-growing tree that can reach 15–25 feet in height and spread, and can live for 40 years or more. I chose this cultivar because I wanted beautiful fall color, edible berries that the birds would love, and flowers for pollinators.
