Install Microsoft Project Desktop App
Sep 16, 2023 · My subscription is showing with the 'Project Online Desktop Client'. I followed the steps in the article and clicked install project, but it just setup Microsoft office 365 on my desktop. These are the windows that pop up. When I'm in Microsoft 365, it takes me to the browser app. I've already used the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant.

Mar 8, 2024 · The "Project" to which you are referring is formally known as Project for the Web. Yes, I know. It is confusing. Microsoft Marketing has made a mess of things! To open the project in question, you must use Project for the Web and log into the same instance in which the project was created. You CANNOT open it in the Microsoft Project desktop app.
