In those ages, that was a monster. Most of the drag race people that ran em, had valve train issues, and really only spun em to upper 8's and low 9's.

BTW, the 1969 - 1970 Boss 302 had an engine code of "G", and were factory rated at 290 HP @ 5,800 RPM and 290 FtLbs @ 4,300 RPM. They were only available in the Boss 302 Mustang and the Cougar Eliminators.

Stock block needs some holes drilled and the Boss or cleavland heads need some water modifications. Head gaskets are available from Ford. B&A made intake manifolds called Street Boss or Track Boss for both 8.2 and 9.5 deck windsor blocks.

May 4, 2009 · I had a DSS Pro Bullet 331 with their main support and studs and the engine still exploded destroying everything inside, the heads and ruining the block. I was revving it to 6,900-7,500 in a n/a build. The car went consistent 11.20's at over 128 mph on motor. The engine lasted about 4 years with TONS of hard abuse on it.

This thing is 37 years old, and has been sitting in a box in a guys closit. It has the 4 bolt mains on the center three caps, and screw in freeze plugs .

Mar 21, 2007 · Its a stock 302 with e7 heads, carburated, e-cam, long tube headers, x-pipe, holley 650 d.p., MSD 6-AL box, 16* timing, and the cam gear is advanced. i was thinking the autolite racing 25 (ar25) or some ngk's tr6's should i even run a colder plug? and what gap do i put them to? Any input is appreciated. thanks.

May 1, 2002 · A Boss 302 engine was released for 1971 production, however Ford's sudden and unexpected disassociation with anything having to do with high performance stopped the Boss 302 in its tracks at the end of the 1970 model year. The only thing left of this engine is block casting D1ZE, the service block for all Boss 302's.
