How much better is 27” 1440p compared to 24” 1080p for gaming?
Aug 31, 2022 · 1080p on a 24 inch monitor is 92ppi 1440p on a 27 inch monitor is 108ppi ~17% more ppi which is noticeable but not a huge difference. However if you are going to set the 27inch monitor further away from you than your 24inch was, the perceived ppi will be greater.

I've got 4 27 inch monitors in a 1 over 3 configuration. I've gone up to 6 27 inch, 3 over 3, and down to dual 27. Whatever you do, get the same sized monitors. Going from a bigger to a smaller monitor is a pain, as you lose track of the mouse pointer. Whether you go 1080p or 1440p isn't that big of an issue.

Had two computers in diff locations for work. One got upgraded to 27". Def preferred the 27" over 24". Second comp just got upgraded to 27" as well (lg27850gl), now using dual 24/27 on each comp. 27" all the way. Super tempted by ultra wide, but hard to justify the cost to Finance.

The difference between 24/27 in person is actually fairly small I think, and in CS and most competitive games you don't really want 1440p, but in pretty much any other game you want 1440p. I think a 24 inch 1080p monitor is fine actually, but I'll be buying a 27" 1440p/4K monitor for content consumption to go alongside my 24" 144hz monitor.
