Record heat roasts Texas, with highs soaring above 110 degrees
A large chunk of Texas is frying amid its hottest weather of the summer and, in some cases, its hottest weather ever observed. Abilene, about 175 miles west of Dallas, hit an all-time high of 113 degrees Wednesday. Del Rio and San Angelo set August high marks, climbing to 112 and 111 degrees, respectively.
