A new storm strengthening just off the Northwest coast could bring additional damage to the region following a historically strong bomb cyclone. It’s also adding another jolt of energy to an atmospheric river.

As Washington recovers from the bomb cyclone that hit the state earlier this week, another storm is expected to bring rain, heavy winds.

A major storm was sweeping across the northwest U.S., battering the region with strong winds and rain and causing widespread power outages.

A third winter storm is on its way to California, with forecasts anticipating that it will hit the Golden State on Friday, only days after a bomb cyclone unleashed hurricane-force winds across the Pacific Northwest and an atmospheric river brought a deluge of rain and snow.

Washington state is reeling following a powerful “bomb cyclone” that left two dead, knocked out power to half a million at its peak and downed trees and power lines.

A bomb cyclone and an atmospheric river will continue lashing the Pacific Northwest with severe weather conditions, the National Weather Service said.

Although there will be another round of rain and high winds, a storm brewing in the Pacific Ocean and headed for the Oregon Coast will not be another bomb cyclone when it reaches land on Thursday night.
