The FBI has recently issued an alert warning against using older model routers that have reached end-of-life and have stopped receiving security patches and software updates from their manufacturers.

The scams, the FBI warned, are costing Americans millions of dollars each year. Most of the scams begin with unsolicited contact via calls, texts or emails from an unknown business offering special deals or discounted medical insurance.
