At CES 2025, we saw AMD expand its 3D V-Cache lineup with more desktop models and even some mobile 'Fire Range' variants for laptops, but one chip that launched without any fanfare is the Ryzen 5 9600.

AMD announced its Ryzen AI Max processors at CES, ushering in a new series of AMD -based AI PCs and laptops. The chipmaker also unveiled low- and midrange CPUs with AI capabilities, ensuring that buyers with different budgets have a chance to snag an AI PC. All of these chips are set to become available over the course of 2025.

AMD served up a smorgasbord of new laptop processor lines: gamer-riffic X3D chips, a workstation-minded Ryzen AI Max family, and the new low-cost Ryzen 200 series.

AMD is targeting both low-end and high-end AI PCs at CES 2025. The company unveiled a new family of Ryzen AI Max chips meant for "halo" Copilot+ AI PCs, which will sit above existing Ryzen AI 9 systems.

AMD has typically pushed the envelope in performance, but at CES 2025, the company is also expanding in another direction, with cheaper, lower-performance Ryzen AI 300 and even a Ryzen 200 family that the company is encouraging both consumers and commercial customers to buy.
