Randle, scheduled to make his Timberwolves debut in Wednesday’s preseason game against the Chicago Bulls, was on the sideline Sunday when teammate DiVincenzo started trash-talking his former team. He averaged 24.0 points per game last season, just shy of his career-high 25.1 points per game the year prior.

Karl-Anthony Towns was the headliner in the blockbuster trade between the Timberwolves and Knicks. But Donte DiVincenzo produced the most intrigue when the teams met this weekend in a preseason game.

Now that Towns is in New York, there is not a player or coach remaining from Brunson’s time in Minnesota. But these players already admire DiVincenzo’s toughness and grit, something they could have used last season when they flamed out against Dallas in the Western Conference finals.
