After a lengthy pandemic-induced hiatus, Staten Island Ferry commuters can soon look forward to their morning coffee and snacks while crossing New York Harbor.

The Staten Island Ferry will reintroduce concessions, including Dunkin' coffee and potentially beer, after a COVID-19 hiatus.

The city Department of Transportation announced Monday that Dunkin’ has been selected as the new concessionaire for the Staten Island Ferry.

The Staten Island Ferry’s famous concession stand will soon return to the iconic boats for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) announced on Monday.

After nearly five years, the Staten Island Ferry is reintroducing onboard concessions, partnering with Dunkin’ to provide coffee, snacks, and even beer. The New York City Department of Transportation announced the long-awaited return,

The Staten Island Ferry announced the return of concessions in the next two months with Dunkin selected as the concessionaire.

It’s likely Dunkin’ will initially operate concession stands aboard the MV Staff Sgt. Michael H. Ollis and the MV Dorothy Day — two of the Staten Island Ferry’s newest ships — with plans to eventually expand to additional ferryboats in the fleet, the Department of Transportation said.

Under the lease, Dunkin will launch its operation within 60 days of its Nov. 20 contract signing. The agreement also allows for alcohol to be sold on the ferries, but Dunkin is still in the midst of procuring the necessary permits to sell beer, according to the Department of Transportation.
