The head of France's far-right National Rally party says he doesn't support a no-confidence motion filed against the government, making it more likely that the prime minister will remain in office and a 2025 budget will be adopted.

French Finance Minister Eric Lombard on Wednesday welcomed the failure of a first no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Francois Bayrou's government, with Lombard describing it as a 'good thing for our country and our citizens.
