On Thursday, February 20, during a routine vessel inspection of a commercial fishing boat, a boarding team member found that two of the individuals amongst the crew were violating the “75/25″ rule.

One of the people had a warrant out for an arrest. The duo, referred to as “aliens” by the Coast Guard’s statement, was aboard a “commercial fishing vessel,” the statement detailed. A law, cited as 46 U.S.C. 8103 in the statement, “requires at least 75% of a vessel’s crew to be U.S. citizens.”

The Coast Guard continues to assist in migrant deportations, including shipping 132 Haitians back home this week after intercepting their ‘overloaded’ boat.

The United States Coast Guard intercepted 20 illegal immigrants on a "30-foot-panga-style vessel" off the coast of California on Tuesday.
