Authorities say a man is in custody after allegedly abducting a pregnant woman and her four children, which prompted an AMBER Alert near Brainerd Friday morning. The victims were unharmed. The mother of the pregnant victim said she was up in Duluth with her husband getting medical treatment,

Chad Aanerud, 35, was charged Monday in Crow Wing County District Court with 12 criminal counts, including second-degree murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, arson and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Minnesota BCA has issued an amber alert for a pregnant mother and her four children after they were abducted at gunpoint.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office reported it believed the shooting death and the apparent abduction are related incidents.
