Of course, the most iconic Sonic the Hedgehog character is probably Sonic the Hedgehog, a character design so strong that he's become more popular than characters like Mickey Mouse. It's kinda reasonable to say that half the reason this franchise is still going strong is just because Sonic is an incredibly appealing guy.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movies wisely sell themselves off the strength of their characters. No movie would have ever gotten away with the nightmarish depiction of the character in the initial trailers,

DC Comics will release a five-issue crossover miniseries with the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The announcement was made by Sega of America during Sonic Central and featured a teaser showing Shadow the Hedgehog dressed as Batman.

Sega's famed characters from Sonic the Hedgehog will become superheroes thanks to a new partnership with DC Comics. It's Batman's 85th birthday this year, and on Sept. 21, Sega hinted at the mash-up by sharing a short video where the bat-signal pulls in not the regular Caped Crusader, but Shadow the Hedgehog from the Sonic universe.

Sonic has had no shortage of iconic antagonists from across the series, from the older games that just had Robotnik fill that role, to the stranger antagonists of the 2000s, then back to having just Eggman for a while in the 2010s.
