Fort Pickens Campground in Gulf Island National Seashore allows you to go camping within walking distance to the beach.

Gulf Islands National Seashore officials announced the closure of Fort Pickens ahead of potentially severe storms on Tuesday.

Campers at the Fort Pickens Campground will need to evacuate by 4 p.m. The rest of the FloridaDistrict Areas will remain open for day use. The Fort Pickens Area is closed until further notice.

as well as the Fort Pickens Discovery Center, Langdon Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore's largest campground, a snack bar in a restored mine storeroom, a fishing pier and a bookstore.
