Rubio pick signals a Trump China policy that could go beyond tariffs
WASHINGTON, Nov 14 (Reuters) - With his nomination of China hardliner Marco Rubio for secretary of state, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has signaled his policy toward Beijing could go beyond tariffs and trade to a more hawkish stance on China as the United States' main strategic rival.

Rubio had been gunning for the job in TV appearances and in Trump's orbit, reports said, touting his foreign policy experience. The Florida senator serves as vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee and sits on the Foreign Relations Committee.
