Many Facebook and Instagram users complained of notifications indicating they were now following the accounts of President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, first lady Melania Trump, and/or the White House following the inauguration on Monday.

CNN reported that singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams said in her Instagram story that even when she unfollowed '@vp' and '@potus' handles, the platform kept on making her account refollow them. Abrams reportedly said that she unfollowed the handles three times but couldn't.

According to CNN, Abrams, an American singer and songwriter, took to her Instagram story stating that she had to unfollow the "@vp" and "@potus" accounts three times as Meta kept automatically refollowing them. She even had to block the accounts to ensure she stayed away from them.
