Social media app TikTok, which is owned by China's ByteDance, will be banned in the United States on Sunday unless a deal comes together to sell it to a U.S. investor or the U.S. Supreme Court intervenes.

In reaction to—or protest over—the impending U.S. TikTok ban, which will take effect on Sunday if the app is not sold or if the Supreme Court doesn’t intervene, thousands of people in the country have joined RedNote.

As a potential US ban on TikTok looms, some users of the video platform are already migrating... to other Chinese-owned lifestyle apps. Two apps owned by Chinese companies, Xiaohungshu (which translates to "little red book" and has been called RedNote) and Lemon8,
