DALLAS -- Miro Heiskanen scored the game-tying goal with 1:49 remaining in the third period for the Dallas Stars, who rallied for a 3-2 shootout win against the Pittsburgh Penguins at American Airlines Center on Sunday. Heiskanen tied it 2-2 on a point shot through traffic with Jake Oettinger on the bench for the extra attacker.

After the moment of silence, Stars’ legendary color analyst Daryl “Razor” Reaugh offered up a tribute on the Victory+ broadcast. Reaugh, who’s been in the Stars’ broadcast booth since 1996, called Hicks “a titan of D-FW sports.”

On Oct. 25, 2024, the Mavs sent the Stars a letter telling them they had defaulted on the partnership by basing their offices in Frisco, outside Dallas city limits. The letter included the $110 required to buy out a defaulting partner under terms of the Center Operating Company contract.

The Stars have filed a forceful legal counter-attack against the Mavericks' arena lawsuit, arguing the claim is invalid due to the Stars' 2011 bankruptcy and alleging the Mavericks violated their own contract with the city by moving their corporate headquarters to Las Vegas.
