TAMPA -- Andrei Vasilevskiy made 36 saves for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 4-1 win against the Seattle Kraken at Amalie Arena on Sunday. Brandon Hagel had a goal and an assist, and Nikita Kucherov scored for the Lightning (32-20-4), who have won five straight and are 6-0-1 in their past seven games.

Jared McCann scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Seattle Kraken held on to beat the Florida Panthers 2-1.

Regardless of what has happened thus far this season, the Florida Panthers are still the defending Stanley Cup champions. It’s a well-worn cliché that everyone is gunning for you when you’re on top. The Kraken came to town ‘jacked’ and ready for the Panthers.

Mackie Samoskevich had seemingly given the Panthers a 2-1 lead late in the second period, but Evan Rodrigues was called for a questionable goalie interference.
