CES 2025 showcased what to expect regarding this generation’s GPUs, with Nvidia taking the spotlight at the convention with its new RTX 5000 series GPUs (currently sold out) - and now, AMD is finally about to join the race after the initial reveal of its new GPUs.

AMD CEO Lisa Su promises to bring high-quality 4K gaming to the masses, with the RX 9070 series, launching in early March.

AMD has confirmed that Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards will go on sale this March, and the later launch could help it fight the mid-range Nvidia RTX 5070.

AMD announced the new RDNA 4 cards at CES without a release date beyond “Q1,” and AMD exec David McAfee later narrowed that window to “March.” Now, we just heard AMD CEO Lisa Su narrow it further to “early March” on the company’s Q4 earnings call.

PC gamers are getting pretty darn antsy for new desktop GPUs. Nvidia’s newest cards sold out pretty much instantly worldwide despite astronomical prices, and AMD failing to show off its new Radeon designs at CES 2025 last month was seen as a snub.

AMD has confirmed its Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs will launch in early March, ending weeks of speculation. The company initially briefed press at CES 2025 but omitted the GPUs from its keynote, leading to uncertainty about their release timeline.

AMD is expected to officially show off its two new RDNA 4 graphics cards before the end of the month, after revealing little at CES.
