Nationally, about 208 Black men per 100,000 died from cancer, as opposed to 179 per 100,000 white men, the study said. About 144 out of 100,000 Black women died from cancer, while the rate for white women was 131 out of 100,000.

Cancer deaths among Black men and women in the United States have declined during the past decade in the United States, a new American Cancer Society report says.

Black men experienced the most significant relative decline in cancer deaths at nearly every age, compared to Black women and white people. This included a 65% to 67% decrease in deaths among those between 40 and 59 years of age.
