Rookie head coach Jordi Fernandez announced Friday that both Dennis Schroder and Ben Simmons will get the start in the Brooklyn Nets preseason opener against the Los Angeles Clippers. Now official, Schroder offered his perspective on the decision to Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

Coming into Nets training camp, much of the talk has been about the point guard duel. Turns out they’ll have dual point guards, instead.

Per Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Brooklyn Nets are going to start Ben Simmons and Dennis Schroder together against the Los Angeles Clippers.

At the same time, Simmons has played just 57 games since joining the Nets in February 2022. It's reasonable to temper any expectations and let time be the judge how he looks and holds up. For now, Simmons is saying the right things and his body has cooperated. He’s also impressed his new teammates four days into camp.
