UPDATE: Winter weather advisory issued for Avery County Tuesday morning, says the NWS
On Monday at 2:19 p.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC. Snow showers. Snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph anticipated for Avery County until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC issued a winter weather advisory at 3:44 a.m. on Friday valid from 10 a.m. until Saturday midnight.
Winter weather advisory issued for north Alabama
The National Weather Service has canceled the winter weather advisory for north Alabama early. It was originally set to end at 7 p.m. but was canceled just after 4:30 p.m. Monday. The weather service said the threat had ended for the region.
