Geno Auriemma looks back on Sue Bird's 'legendary' career as UConn retires her No. 10 on Sunday

A former UConn women’s basketball player must be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame to become eligible to have their jersey number retired by UConn. Bird and fellow former Husky great Maya Moore were both inducted into the Hall in September. Moore will have her jersey retired at a later date.

The Huskies signed Jovana Popovic, a guard from Serbia. She is the first UConn player from the country. According to the UConn website, Popovic has extensive experience for Serbia, making her debut at the 2021 FIBA U16 Women’s European Challengers.
