Ridley Scott almost went with Timothée Chalamet in Gladiator II, until he saw one performance from Paul Mescal.

While it's clear the star had his hands full this year between "Dune II," "A Complete Unknown," and now Josh Safdie's "Marty Supreme," for a time, Chalamet could've ended up in "Gladiator II" as well.

A rumour is making rounds all over social media amid the success of Gladiator 2 at the box office which is actually true. Paul Mescal was not the first choice for the film, and you will be shocked to know who it was - Timothée Chalamet was Ridley Scott's first choice for Gladiator 2!
