Israel's defense minister declared a new phase of the war against Hezbollah in Lebanon following waves of explosive attacks that killed dozens and injured thousands. Meanwhile, international calls for restraint and peace have intensified.

There are no changes to U.S. military posture in the Middle East, the Pentagon told reporters on Thursday when asked about recent deadly attacks in Lebanon attributed to Israel that blew up Hezbollah radios and pagers.

The operations in Lebanon and Syria could spark a global reckoning over vulnerabilities faced by tech companies with global manufacturing operations.

Since Hezbollah has reduced the use of mobile phones by its forces because Israel can easily detect and target them, pagers have increasingly become the preferred messaging device within the group.
