The New York Yankees have a need at third base but MLB insider Jon Heyman explains why a deal is unlikely to happen.

All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado only had one request if the St. Louis Cardinals traded him this offseason. Arenado told Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak he’d accept a trade to one of five teams: the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, and Houston Astros.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Yankees are not interested in trading for Arenado. Heyman had this to report in the New York Post:

The St. Louis Cardinals certainly tried to trade Nolan Arenado to the Houston Astros throughout the offseason. The two sides came to terms on a deal but Arenado used his no-trade clause to shut it down.
