The Dodgers are hopeful that the real challenge for Shohei Ohtani this year won't be about his health, but rather his process of re-acclimating to the two-way role that made him a superstar.

Shohei Ohtani pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers in May is "about right," manager Dave Roberts said Saturday at the team's annual fan fest. He reiterated Ohtani won't pitch in the season-opening Japan Series against the Chicago Cubs on March 18-19 in Tokyo.

The Dodgers will also add a third high-end pitcher to the rotation this year: Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani is wrapping up his rehab from his September 2023 elbow surgery and will resume pitching this season.
