LSU battled back thanks to Collins, who averages eight points per game. The 6-foot-9 forward received the ball more often as a roller in screening actions and finished around the rim. His impressive vertical leap was notable in an alley-oop dunk and multiple blocks on defense.

LSU senior guard Cam Carter was dropping bucket after bucket playing and doing anything to get the Tigers back in the win column. He went on a 7-0 run by himself late as LSU beat Oklahoma 82-79. The win snapped a seven-game losing skid for LSU (13-12, 2-10 SEC). The Sooners (16-9, 3-9) suffered their fourth straight loss.

The victory was improbable with the late deficit but bordered on the miraculous as LSU was without three front-court players: starting redshirt freshman Corey Chest, fifth-year senior Derek Fountain and freshman Trey’Dez Green.
