The government informed Parliament that 2834 civil services posts across IAS, IPS and IFoS are vacant. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra had the highest gaps.

Across these three services, 2,834 positions are unoccupied from a joint sanctioned strength of 15,169, indicating an overall vacancy rate close to 18.7%.
