At least seven tornadoes hit Alabama on Saturday, and that number will likely climb even higher later today. The National Weather Service plans to continue looking at storm damage and has several areas that will be visited by storm survey teams today (Monday).

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey later confirmed at least three deaths and noted that there were reports of damage in 52 of the state's 67 counties as the assessment continues.

As of Tuesday, there have been 12 confirmed tornadoes in Saturday's outbreak of severe weather that killed three and injured several, but as many as 17 tornadoes may have struck the state in all. U.S.
