We had heard that Hisense’s 2025 TVs were going to go real big, with the Chinese brand announcing that it had launched its first ever 136-inch micro-LED TV for the consumer market, but we didn't expect to be also surprised by a giant 163-inch version of the micro-LED TV at CES 2025 as well.

For some people, there’s at least more of a chance of actually owning the also-new 116-inch TriChroma LED TV. That’s because, at its core, this is still a Mini LED set. But Hisense has developed a new local dimming system that it calls “RGB Local Dimming Technology.” The key benefit here seems to be color vibrance:

The Hisense 136MX is a huge 136-inch television, meeting the demand for considerably larger screens. This isn’t just an LED TV, however, it uses MicroLED. That means that the LEDs that it uses are much smaller, with 24.88 million spread across the display, allowing for great accuracy in dimming, and massive brightness.

The most eye-catching of the two in terms of showcasing a new technology that we can expect to spread down to less gigantic and so more affordable/mainstream screens is the 116-inch 116UX, which as well as simply being huge also marks the consumer debut of Hisense’s new RGB Local Dimming Display Technology.
