An all-electric version of the Porsche Cayenne SUV will be revealed later this year, CEO Oliver Blume said in a Q&A following the announcement of the automaker's 2024 financial results Wednesday. "We are going to present it to the world for the first time at the end of the year," Blume said, adding that the reveal will take place on the West Coast.

Despite the arrival of the electric Cayenne, the current gas-powered Cayenne—which has been on sale since the 2019 model year and received a major update for 2024—will stick around. Despite its age, Porsche sold 102,889 examples last year, accounting for almost one out of every three sales at the automaker.

News that the next Porsche Cayman will be an EV was enough to get brand aficionados quivering at the lip. With high-tech mid-mounted battery and motor-on-each-wheel drive, surely a Cayman without a flat-six engine is surely no kind of Cayman at all.
