Bengals' defenders Joseph Ossai and Myles Murphy are stepping up in the absence of Trey Hendrickson
Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson is out for the rest of the year because of core muscle surgery.
If Hendrickson’s time in Cincinnati is finished, he will find himself ranked in the Top 10 in NFL history in an impressive category. With 61 sacks in 72 games with the Bengals, Hendrickson averaged 0.85 per contest. That puts him the Top 10 in NFL history for most sacks per game with a franchise.
After yet another contract-related standoff this offseason, Hendrickson agreed to accept a $14 million raise in August to bring his 2025 salary to $30 million. It's possible he has played his last down with the Bengals, as the 31-year-old is set to hit free agency.
The Cincinnati Bengals carry some high-profile injuries into the Week 15 rematch with the Baltimore Ravens, with Tee Higgins’ scary situation topping the list. Also on there is the surgery for Trey Hendrickson and what it might mean for his future with the Bengals .
And while Hendrickson may be out for the remainder of 2025, multiple teams should keep a close eye on his health, as he will hit the free agent market in 2026. One of those teams who should absolutely be interested in Hendrickson is the Dallas Cowboys.
