Down south, in spots such as Santa Ana, Irvine and Fontana and the majority of the Inland Empire, expect winds of up to 60 miles per hour. Orange County can expect temperatures to remain level in the mid to high 70s, with the Inland Empire seeing a decrease to the mid to high 60s.

Gusty Santa Ana winds are expected to return Wednesday and continue into Thursday, bringing with them elevated fire risk, officials said.

There is a red flag warning in effect throughout portions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties because of gusty Santa Ana winds. Meanwhile, fire weather watches will go into effect Wednesday morning through Thursday evening for L.A. and Ventura counties.

Red Flag warnings have been issued in Southern California on Sunday evening ahead of strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity, setting the stage for dangerous fire conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) said the warnings will go into effect at 7 p.

The weekend rain won't do much to suppress the elevated-to-critical fire danger taking over Southern California for the first week of November.
