Governor Ron DeSantis wants lawmakers to address what he calls a "condominium crisis" before the end of the year. DeSantis held a roundtable discussion with condo owners and association leaders in Pinellas Park on Thursday. He said he's ready to call a special session, once the Legislature has good proposals in hand.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday that the Legislature needs to convene in Tallahassee before the end of the year to help condominium owners facing a deadline that could result in them having to pay extraordinarily expensive fees that many cannot afford.

Governor DeSantis turned up the heat on the state's crisis with condo repairs at a roundtable in Pinellas Park Thursday. The governor told participants the legislature "can't punt" the issue of required inspections and fix-ups into next year.
