Palm Beach Gardens police said a Loxahatchee man, in a "random act of violence," "viciously attacked" another man with golf clubs before apparently drowning him in a pond at a golf course on Monday.

A West Palm Beach man is accused of beating to death a 65-year-old man with a golf club, choking him on the first hole of a public golf course and holding his head in a pond, police said.

A Loxahatchee, Fla., man is under arrest and accused of randomly attacking and killing another man at a Palm Beach Gardens golf course on Monday.

Palm Beach Gardens Police Chief Dominick Pape said that the golf course incident was "a random act of violence."
