Yankees superstar Aaron Judge appeared in his 1,000th big-league game on Friday, a 9-4 New York victory that spoiled the Pittsburgh Pirates' home opener (box score). Judge went 1 for 5 with a walk on the afternoon.

Aaron Judge hit a three-run homer in the first inning for his 500th career extra-base hit as the host New York Yankees raced out to a big lead and earned a 9-7 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night.

The homer was the 321st of Judge's 1,000-game career, which is significant because a different slugger also had 321 in his first 1,000 games with the Yankees. Babe Ruth had that many after joining the team in his trade from the Boston Red Sox.
