During the 2024 campaign, Caldwell completed 141 of 223 passes for 1,608 yards and 13 touchdowns. He added five rushing touchdowns to his resume, the most by a Troy quarterback since the 2017 season.

Caldwell is a native of Auburn who transferred to Troy before this season after two years at Gardner-Webb. He played his freshman season at Jacksonville State.

In Troy’s 38-21 loss to Iowa, Caldwell went 14-of-21 passing for 156 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The touchdown pass was a 63-yarder.
