Ukraine's air force said on Thursday it had shot down all 42 drones and one of four missiles used by Russia during overnight attacks. Air defences went into operation in nine Ukrainian regions, the air force said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app nearly 31 months after Russia's full-scale invasion.

Russian attacks across Ukraine killed five civilians and injured at least 31 over the past day, regional authorities reported early on Sept. 19.

In the village of Hubarivka, Bohodukhiv district, as a result of shelling, grass was burning in an open area outside the settlement on an area of 200 square meters. At least 33 people including three children were injured when a Russian air strike hit a high-rise building in Kharkiv city and caused a fire, authorities reported on Sept. 15.

The Russian military is trying to regain lost ground in the Kharkiv region. However, the situation is currently under control, reports Anton Baiev, head of the planning department of the Khartiya 13th Brigade.
