Friends of Big Bear Valley says a luxury housing project could drive the famous eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow, from their nesting grounds

California’s most famous feathered couple may fly the coop if a planned luxury housing development is built near their nest. The Friends of Big Bear — which has been captivating viewers worldwide by filming the day-to-day activities of lovebirds Jackie and Shadow — issued a “last chance” plea to stop the development less than a mile from their nest.

Activists and environmentalists in Big Bear are rallying to raise enough money to stop plans for a luxury housing and marina development less than a mile away from bald eagles Jackie and Shadow’s nest.

The backstory: Warren is such a big animal lover that she started a private animal sanctuary called Mousebutt Rescue Ranch, named after her late, beloved cat Mouse and parrot Buttwings. Warren also is vegan and grew up in L.A. (Van Nuys) so she knows her local vegan restaurants.
