WEBJan 22, 2023 · My favorite closed back currently is my Kennerton GH40. Very warm tonality with a ton of bass which is probably one of my favorite overall sound signatures. Not the most impressive in terms of technicalities, but it has very good isolation (they're my main travel headphones), and feels very sturdy/quality.

AKG gives you removable cables, and 3 separate cables no less for different uses, terminating at 3.5mm trrs, and a 1/4in adapter if you're using an amp.

WEBJul 30, 2022 · Without they can be dry, harsh and anemic and I at least dislike them then. LCD-2 Closed is much better when neither are EQ'd. With EQ the XC shine. EMU Teaks seem to be a fun, bassy and well balanced closed back, but I doubt it's anywhere close to the XC in general performance. I didn't enjoy the Focal closed backs either up to Stellia.

WEBChasing soundstage in headphones is an exercise in futility. I've tried out HD800, they still sounded like headphones to me. Not even the same universe as my BMR Philharmonitors. I reach for my headphones when I want the highest detail and clarity, and to immerse myself in the music right in my head. That's what they're for.

WEBMar 4, 2023 · Used Dt770 Pro (there is a 'M' version with even better isolation but supposedly the sound quality suffers compared to the regular'Pro' version), they are exceptionally sturdy and reliable so getting them used isnt an issue and for 60-90€ (probably need to get new pads, 10-30€ depending on material) there isn't really any closed back competition at their price point.

WEBNov 18, 2020 · Well, I personally keep a K361-BT around for like, mowing the lawn and stuff. Apparently there's some tuning differences between the K361 and it's BT version, although the BT doesn't use any DSP, so it sounds about the same between BT and Wired (Passive) Mode.
